With four planets in Capricorn, it can feel like we have the weight of the world on our shoulders. Our ambition may quadruple – as the sign of the seagoat is the striver who climbs the to the highest peak – but we’re just s likely to fall prey to predating self-doubt or false beliefs of our inadequacy. It’s no accident Capricorn is what’s for dinner at New Year’s Eve when we’re formulating resolutions that shoot for the moon. This is a time of goal-setting and strategy. This is a time to get real and go for your dreams. <br/ >
The planets will be in this steely, determined sign for various periods of time. Pluto – the planet of collective transformation – will be in Cap until 2024 while Mercury only until January 14th when it shifts into Aquarius. Venus, in retrograde mode, stays here until St. Patty’s day making clear where the cracks lie in our relationships and perhaps even calling back ex’s or the memory of them to make sure we’re moving forward with a clear heart and wizened sense of what we truly need to be in a stable partnership. The Sun shines in Capricorn until the 21st of this month highlighting our talents or weaknesses for setting goals and taking practical, purposeful steps. <br/ >

Gratifaction comes with every step by knowing that we’re showing up for ourselves and with the faith that we will reach the peak or die trying. In our culture of quick fixes with its premium on external wealth, it’s easy to misinterpret Capricorn energy as wanting just the superficial gloss of what hard work has to offer – and want it now. Sure, material wealth may be a happy by-product – but what Capricorn is really after is the inimitable satisfaction of a job well done and a challenge faced head-on and with integrity. Pick your peak.
